Senior portraits photography should be all about the individual!
When I shoot seniors, which I do not do too often, I do not require them to go through the process to purchase elaborate expensive outfits, or get their hair and makeup done. They certainly may do that! But all I require is that they BE + FEEL themselves, whatever that means to them. If they do those 2 simple things, their photography will represent “them,” and not a market trend for seniors. And their images will be timeless for years to come…and not leave them feeling, “WHAT was I THINKING?”
I have had the great fortune to shoot Sabrina several times over the past year. First, I captured her URBAN + FAMILY session in Old Town Pasadena.
A month later, she and I headed into nature to capture these images–a NATURAL SENIOR SESSION in a local canyon area–in which the
sole purpose was to focus on a “beauty” and editorial look for her senior photos, while still capturing the essence of Sabrina.
She has an incredibly blithe spirit, which I thought would work fabulous in this location. The camera loves her, which of course doesn’t hurt!
We had a little fun with one of her best friend’s Noah on this shoot as well. And, if you scroll through my blog posts, you will see her
amazingness modeling for Boulevard 10 jewelry! She is a beautiful soul, inside and out, and it’s been a pleasure to know and capture her!
