Two months before this session in the spring of 2014 I broke my foot, my doctor then finding a tumor, which led to bone reconstruction and 7 months virtually unable to work. I capture this family 4 times a year, so it was a real challenge to figure out how to accommodate their Spring session last year while in a boot and ordered to stay off the foot. But great clients are AMAZING clients when they ride along the journey with you, one of the sons here ALSO having a broken foot. Studio sessions are not very easy when you don’t have a regular studio space and you are injured. But thankfully my lovely mother offered her living room for me to set up in. She along with my boyfriend moving furniture and setting up my equipment up so that this family could have a studio session.
The “J” Family sessions are exactly what shooting young families should be about, laughter, silliness, being free to be who you are…and PERFECTLY imperfect on camera. My favorite moments with them are hands down the ones that would frustrated the poo out of most photographers. The range of expressions that pour from their faces for over 5 years of capturing them is for sure worth a world record. I chose to post this session in black & white so that all the insignificant details of color disappear, leaving you solely with their quick witted faces and personalities. 🙂
